Ingredients
Peach Syrup
- 3-4 peaches, diced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup water (from the 4 ½ cups total)
Lemonade
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6 lemons)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice, as needed
- Fresh peach slices, for garnish
- Fresh lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Dice Peaches: Wash 3-4 peaches, remove the pits, and dice them. You can leave the skin on to retain more flavor and texture.
- Make Syrup: In a saucepan, combine the diced peaches, 1 cup granulated sugar, and ½ cup of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the peaches become soft and syrupy, the sugar fully dissolves, and the mixture starts bubbling, about 7-8 minutes.
- Blend and Strain: Remove the pan from the heat and carefully transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor. Cover with a lid and a clean kitchen towel to prevent splatter, then blend until smooth. Optionally, strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve using a spoon or spatula to remove solids for a smoother texture. Let the syrup cool to room temperature or chill in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- Combine Lemonade: When ready to serve, mix the peach syrup, 1 cup fresh lemon juice, 4 cups cold water, and ice in a pitcher. Stir well to combine all flavors.
- Garnish and Serve: Add fresh peach slices and lemon slices for garnish to enhance the freshness and presentation before serving.
Notes
- You may peel the peaches before dicing if you prefer a smoother syrup without the peel’s texture.
- Adjust the sugar amount depending on the sweetness of your peaches or personal taste.
- The syrup can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a sparkling version, substitute some or all of the cold water with sparkling water just before serving.
