Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 ½ Cups Old-Fashioned Oats
- 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar
- ½ Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
- 1 Cup Unsalted Butter, melted
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Flavoring
Add-ins
- 1 ½ Cups Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing and lining it with parchment paper for easy removal of the bars.
- Mix Together Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine old-fashioned oats, all-purpose flour, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Stir well to evenly mix all the dry components.
- Add in the Wet Ingredients: Pour the melted unsalted butter, add eggs, and vanilla flavoring into the dry mixture. Mix thoroughly until you achieve a fully combined, uniform batter.
- Add the Chocolate Chips: Gently fold the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the batter ensuring even distribution throughout the mixture.
- Bake: Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the bars turn a light golden color and are set in the center.
- Sprinkle with Salt, Cool and Slice: Immediately after removing from oven, sprinkle the top with coarse sea salt. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting them into 24 squares. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Be sure to let the bars cool fully before slicing to achieve clean cuts.
- Optional: Use dark chocolate chips for a richer chocolate flavor.
- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for longer storage.
