Ingredients
Beef and Marinade
- 1 lb Flat Iron steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1/4 cup Coconut Aminos
- 1 tsp Root ginger, peeled and grated (fresh, not powdered)
- 2 cloves Garlic, chopped
Vegetables
- 1/2 lb Broccoli, cut into small florets
Oils and Seasonings
- 1/4 cup Coconut Oil
- 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Fish Sauce
Instructions
- Slice the Beef: Cut the flat iron steak into very thin slices against the grain to ensure tenderness and quick cooking.
- Marinate the Beef: Place the sliced beef in a small bag or bowl and add the coconut aminos, grated ginger, and chopped garlic. Seal or cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Prepare the Broccoli: Blanch the broccoli florets by boiling them for two minutes, then drain thoroughly to remove excess water. This helps maintain a crisp texture during stir-frying.
- Cook the Beef: Heat the coconut oil in a large wok or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the marinated beef (drained, but reserve the marinade liquid) for 1-3 minutes until browned and just cooked through, then remove from the pan.
- Cook the Broccoli: In the same pan, stir-fry the blanched broccoli for about 3 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Add Sauce and Simmer: Pour the reserved marinade liquid into the pan with the broccoli and cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken slightly and coat the vegetables.
- Combine and Season: Return the cooked beef to the pan, stir to combine and warm through. Add the fish sauce and toasted sesame oil, mixing well to enhance the flavor.
- Serve Hot: Remove from heat and serve the beef and broccoli immediately for a satisfying keto-friendly meal.
Notes
- Use fresh grated ginger for the best flavor—avoid powdered ginger.
- Blanching the broccoli before stir-frying helps maintain its vibrant color and crisp texture.
- You can substitute flat iron steak with other thinly sliced beef cuts if unavailable.
- Adjust fish sauce according to taste as it is quite salty.
- This dish is perfect for meal prepping and reheats well in a skillet or microwave.
