These Healthy Mixed Berry Oatmeal Baby Fingers are nutritious and delicious snacks perfect for babies and toddlers. Made with quick rolled oats, banana, fresh blueberries, and raspberries, these soft yet slightly firm bars provide natural sweetness and wholesome ingredients. Baked to perfection, they are easy to hold and great for little ones learning to self-feed, making them an ideal baby teeth soother when frozen.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 baby fingers

Ingredients

Oats and Fruit

  • 1 cup quick rolled oats
  • 1 medium banana or 1/2 cup mashed banana
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries

Liquid

  • 6 tbsp any type of milk (such as oat milk)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) to prepare for baking the baby fingers.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Line a 7×7 inch glass ovenproof dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking and allow easy removal.
  3. Mash Banana: In a medium-sized bowl, mash the banana until smooth to act as a natural sweetener and binder.
  4. Add Ingredients: Add the milk, quick rolled oats, fresh raspberries, and blueberries to the mashed banana.
  5. Mix and Mash Berries: Mix everything well, mashing any large blueberries and raspberries to evenly distribute the fruit flavors and textures.
  6. Spread Mixture: Spread the oat and berry mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top to about 1/2 inch thickness.
  7. Bake: Bake on the middle rack of the oven for 18-20 minutes. The bars should feel slightly firm when pressed and not squishy in the center.
  8. Cool: Remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool completely on a cooling rack.
  9. Cut into Fingers: Once cooled, use a sharp knife to cut the bars into eight finger-sized pieces suitable for babies to hold.
  10. Store: Store the baby fingers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to one month. Frozen bars make excellent baby teeth soothers.

Notes

  • Use any type of milk suitable for your baby, such as oat milk, almond milk, or breast milk.
  • The bars should be slightly firm when baked, ensuring they’re easy for babies to hold but soft enough to chew.
  • Always supervise babies while eating to prevent choking.
  • Replace fresh berries with frozen if out of season; thaw before use.
  • These bars freeze well – freeze individually for convenient on-the-go snacks.
