Ingredients
Salad Ingredients
- 10 oz. canned tuna, drained (2 cans of 5 oz. each)
- ¼ cup celery, finely chopped
- ¼ cup green onion, sliced
- 2-3 tablespoons chopped pepperoncini peppers
- 1 tablespoon pepperoncini juice (from the jar)
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Mash the Tuna: Place the drained tuna in a shallow bowl and use a large fork to mash it until it is broken into small pieces but not completely pureed, ensuring a nice texture for the salad.
- Mix Ingredients: Add the chopped celery, sliced green onions, chopped pepperoncini peppers, pepperoncini juice, mayonnaise, salt, and black pepper to the mashed tuna. Mix everything thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined. Taste the mixture and adjust salt or pepper if needed.
- Serve: Spoon the tuna salad onto your favorite crackers or serve it chilled as a sandwich filling or a dip. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for better flavor melding.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
- Adjust the amount of pepperoncini and juice depending on your preferred spice level.
- Can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Perfect served on whole grain crackers or in lettuce wraps for a low-carb option.
