Instructions
- Prepare the base mixture: In a Mason jar or any lidded container, combine rolled oats, chia seeds, maple syrup, a pinch of sea salt, and Greek yogurt if using. Stir in the unsweetened almond milk until all ingredients are well incorporated and no chia clumps remain.
- Refrigerate overnight: Cover the jar tightly and place it in the refrigerator overnight or up to 5 days to allow the oats and chia seeds to soak and thicken.
- Customize flavor variations: For Apple Pie oats, mix in applesauce and cinnamon or apple pie spice before refrigerating. For Chocolate Banana Bread oats, stir mashed banana, cocoa powder, and cinnamon into the base mixture before chilling. For Peach Crisp and PB&J, make the plain base without additions.
- Add toppings and serve: In the morning, add your chosen toppings based on the variation: diced apples, pecans, and cinnamon apples for Apple Pie; peach slices and granola for Peach Crisp; chia jam, peanut butter, chopped strawberries, raspberries, and peanuts for PB&J; banana slices, walnuts, and chocolate chips for Chocolate Banana Bread. Drizzle extra maple syrup if desired, then enjoy.
Notes
- For best texture, ensure chia seeds are well mixed to avoid clumping.
- Use whole rolled oats for ideal creaminess; instant oats may become too mushy.
- Adjust sweetness by varying maple syrup amount to taste.
- Greek yogurt is optional but adds creaminess and protein.
- These overnight oats can be stored refrigerated for up to 5 days, making them perfect for meal prep.
- Feel free to experiment with nuts and fruit toppings based on personal preference and seasonal availability.
