4.1 from 1 review

This Air Fryer Garlic Pizza Bread is a quick and delicious homemade bread made from scratch using pizza dough, infused with a flavorful garlic butter mixture and baked to perfection in an air fryer. Perfect as a side dish or appetizer, it offers a crispy outside with a soft, buttery inside, accented by fresh parsley, parmesan, and a hint of lemon zest.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

For the Garlic Butter Mixture

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (204°C) for 5 to 10 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter: Melt the unsalted butter in a heat-proof bowl until it is halfway melted, then stir continuously until fully creamy and melted. Add the minced garlic, finely chopped parsley, grated parmesan, and lemon zest to the melted butter and mix well to combine all the flavors.
  3. Prepare Dough Balls: Cut the pizza dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece into smooth balls.
  4. Brush Pan and Dough: Lightly brush the bottom and sides of a 7 or 8-inch (18-20 cm) oven-safe pan with about half of the garlic butter mixture. Place each dough ball in the pan one by one, brushing all sides with the butter mixture as you go, but avoid brushing the tops to prevent herb burning.
  5. First Bake: Place the pan in the preheated air fryer and bake at 400°F (204°C) for 5 minutes.
  6. Lower Temperature and Continue Baking: Without opening the air fryer, reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Final Butter Application and Bake: Spread the remaining garlic butter mixture evenly on top of the dough balls, then bake for a final 5 minutes at 325°F (163°C).
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove the pan from the air fryer and allow the garlic pizza bread to cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Optionally, top with extra fresh herbs or coarse sea salt for enhanced flavor.

Notes

  • If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, you can add an extra clove of garlic to the butter mixture.
  • Use homemade or store-bought pizza dough based on your convenience.
  • Make sure not to brush the tops of the dough balls before baking to prevent burning of herbs.
  • The pan used should fit comfortably inside your air fryer; adjust size accordingly.
  • Serve warm for best taste and texture.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain crispness.
