Ingredients
Fish
- 2 cod fillets (approximately 150g each)
Seasoning and Garnish
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the cod fillets: Pat the cod fillets dry thoroughly with a paper towel to remove excess moisture, which helps in achieving a better texture when cooking.
- Season the fish: In a small bowl, combine olive oil, paprika, and garlic powder. Brush this mixture evenly on both sides of each cod fillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Arrange fillets in the air fryer: Place the seasoned cod fillets in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping to allow hot air to circulate evenly around each piece.
- Cook the cod: Set the air fryer to 200°C (390°F) and cook the fish for 10-12 minutes. Start checking at 10 minutes; the fish is done when it turns opaque and flakes easily when tested with a fork.
- Serve the fish: Carefully remove the cod from the air fryer and plate. Serve immediately with lemon wedges to squeeze over the fillets.
- Optional garnish: Add freshly chopped parsley on top of the cod for a touch of color and fresh flavor before serving.
Notes
- Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of your cod fillets, so adjust accordingly.
- Patting the fish dry is crucial to avoid sogginess and to ensure it crisps nicely.
- Feel free to experiment with additional spices or herbs such as dill or thyme for variation.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the cod at 200°C (400°F) for 12-15 minutes as an alternative method.
- Letting the cod rest for a minute after cooking helps retain juiciness.
