Ingredients
Fudge Ingredients
- 2 tbsp matcha powder
- ¾ cup condensed milk
- 14 oz white chocolate
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions
- Prepare Pan: Grease an 8×8 baking pan thoroughly and line it with parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the fudge after setting.
- Heat Matcha and Condensed Milk: In a saucepan over medium-low heat, sift the matcha powder into the condensed milk and whisk gently until both ingredients are fully combined and smooth, taking care to avoid lumps.
- Melt White Chocolate: Add the white chocolate to the matcha-condensed milk mixture and stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is homogenous.
- Add Flavorings: Stir in the vanilla bean paste and salt, mixing well to evenly incorporate these flavors into the fudge base.
- Pour and Set: Pour the prepared fudge mixture into the lined baking pan. Use a spatula to spread the mixture evenly across the pan. Allow it to cool at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes until firm.
- Chill: Cover the pan once the fudge has cooled and refrigerate for at least 3 hours to allow the fudge to fully set and firm up.
- Optional Topping: Before serving, optionally sift additional matcha powder over the top of the fudge for extra flavor and a decorative touch.
- Storage: Store any leftover fudge in an airtight container. It can be kept refrigerated for freshness or at room temperature for short-term storage.
Notes
- Sifting the matcha powder helps prevent lumps and ensures a smooth fudge texture.
- Using vanilla bean paste adds a richer vanilla flavor, but vanilla extract can be substituted if needed.
- Allow the fudge to chill thoroughly for the best texture and easy slicing.
- Store the fudge in an airtight container to maintain freshness and prevent it from absorbing other odors.
- Matcha powder on top adds visual appeal and a boost of green tea flavor but is optional.
