Ingredients
Salmon
- 4 Salmon fillets (6 oz each)
Miso Butter
- 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter, softened
- 3 tablespoons White miso paste
- 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons Fresh ginger, grated
- 1-2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Green onions, sliced thin
Instructions
- Prepare Miso Butter: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened butter, white miso paste, brown sugar, grated fresh ginger, minced garlic, and sliced green onions. Use a spatula to thoroughly mash and mix all ingredients together until smooth and well incorporated.
- Apply Miso Butter: Divide the miso butter evenly among the salmon fillets. Using a butter knife or offset spatula, spread the butter mixture over the entire surface of each piece of salmon to ensure full coverage and maximum flavor infusion.
- Cooking in Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the salmon fillets in a large skillet or baking dish. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and nearly cooked through. Then, switch the oven to broil and broil the fillets on high for 1-2 minutes to caramelize the top, creating a slightly charred and flavorful crust.
- Cooking in Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C). Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup. Place the salmon fillets inside the basket without overlapping, and cook for 9-10 minutes. Do not turn the salmon during cooking to preserve the butter topping and avoid breakage.
- Serve: Once cooked, transfer the salmon to a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining miso butter over the fillets. Garnish with additional sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve alongside steamed rice and vegetables for a complete meal.
Notes
- If preferred, you can substitute brown sugar with honey for a different sweetness profile.
- Make sure not to overcook the salmon to keep it flaky and moist.
- Use parchment paper or foil in the air fryer to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Garnishing with sesame seeds adds a nice touch of texture and flavor.
- Adjust the amount of garlic or ginger to taste according to your preference.
