Ingredients
- 12 ounces spaghetti noodles, cooked al dente and slightly cooled
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs
- 1 pound lean ground beef, cooked
- 16 ounces marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 6 ounces cream cheese, cubed
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, grated and divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the cooked spaghetti with olive oil, minced garlic, beaten eggs, and Italian herbs.
- In a separate bowl, combine the cooked ground beef with marinara sauce.
- In an 11×7-inch baking dish, layer half the noodle mixture.
- Spread sour cream over the noodles, then layer half of the meat mixture.
- Dot with cubed cream cheese and sprinkle with half the mozzarella cheese.
- Add the remaining noodles, top with the rest of the meat sauce and finish with remaining mozzarella.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Substitute ground turkey for a twist on the classic.
- Letting the casserole rest before cutting helps it hold its shape when served.
- Freezes well—wrap tightly and freeze before baking for up to 2 months.
