Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1-2 chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Pizza
- 2 pizza crusts with cornmeal for handling dough
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
Topping
- 3 tbsp hot honey drizzle
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure it’s hot enough to bake the pizza to a crispy crust with bubbling cheese.
- Prepare and Cook Chicken: Slice the chicken breasts lengthwise to create four thin pieces. Season them with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil, then cook the chicken pieces for about 4 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then cut into bite-sized cubes.
- Assemble Pizza: Spread the pizza sauce evenly over each pizza crust. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top, then distribute the cooked chicken cubes over the cheese. Optionally, sprinkle Italian seasoning or any other preferred toppings.
- Bake the Pizza: Place the assembled pizzas in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the crust is golden and crispy.
- Finish with Hot Honey: Remove the pizzas from the oven and generously drizzle the hot honey over the top while still warm to add a spicy-sweet finish. Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use thinly sliced chicken breasts to ensure quick, even cooking.
- Adjust hot honey amount based on your heat preference.
- Letting chicken rest before slicing helps retain juiciness.
- You can add other pizza toppings like red onions, bell peppers, or fresh basil as desired.
- If you prefer, use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken to save time.
