- 1 cup real mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup dill pickle relish, or 3/4 cup finely chopped dill pickles
- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh dill, or 1 tsp dried
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper, optional
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir well until fully mixed.
- Transfer the tartar sauce to an airtight container.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld (optional but recommended).
- Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.

- Adjust sweetness by increasing or decreasing the sugar.
- Great as a dip for fries, fish sticks, or even spread on sandwiches.
