These homemade oven chips are crispy, flavorful, and easy to make. With just a few simple ingredients, they’re the perfect vegan, gluten-free side dish for any meal.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic granules
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Cut the potatoes into 1cm (approximately ½ inch) chip shapes. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the chips in a single layer.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the chips, then sprinkle with garlic granules, sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
  4. Toss the potatoes until they’re evenly coated in the oil and seasoning.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes, flipping the chips halfway through. Continue baking for another 10-15 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of crispiness.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can soak the potato chips in cold water for 30 minutes before baking and then pat them dry.
  • Feel free to experiment with other seasonings like paprika, rosemary, or chili powder to customize the flavor.
  • Store any leftover chips in an airtight container for up to 2 days, though they’re best enjoyed fresh.
