Ingredients
- Pizza Base (choose one):
- 1 classic pizza dough (wood-fired Italian style)
- OR 1 fast no-yeast pizza dough
- OR 1 store-bought pizza base
- Garlic Cheese Topping:
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons garlic (from 2–3 large cloves), crushed or made into a paste
- 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt (or table salt, or double if using salt flakes)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, freshly shredded
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, freshly shredded
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 480°F (250°C), or 450°F (230°C fan). Allow it to fully preheat.
- In a small bowl, combine olive oil and garlic. Let sit for 10 minutes to infuse.
- Prepare your pizza base and stretch it onto a pan or baking sheet.
- Spread the garlic-infused oil (with all garlic) over the dough, leaving the edges bare.
- Sprinkle with salt, then layer parmesan and mozzarella evenly over the top.
- If using a no-yeast base, lightly brush the exposed crust with olive oil.
- Bake for 8 minutes, turning halfway through, until the cheese has golden spots and the crust is crisp.
- Slice and serve immediately while hot and melty.
Notes
- Freshly shredded cheese melts better and creates a more flavorful topping.
- Use crushed garlic or garlic paste for a smooth, even flavor.
- Optional: sprinkle fresh herbs like basil or oregano after baking for added aroma.
