Ingredients
Pasta
- 300 g Fettuccine or pasta of choice
- 200 ml Pasta Water
- Salt (to taste, for pasta water)
Alfredo Sauce
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 500 ml Heavy Cream
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 cup Parmesan (Grated)
- 1/4 cup Parsley (Chopped)
- Salt & Pepper (To taste)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine or your preferred pasta and cook for about 8-10 minutes until al dente. Reserve 200 ml of pasta water before draining the pasta.
- Prepare the Sauce Base: In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, pour in the heavy cream and stir gently.
- Season and Thicken: Stir in the garlic powder and let the mixture simmer on low to medium heat for about 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta and reserved pasta water to the simmering sauce. Let everything cook together for an additional 5-10 minutes, stirring continuously to ensure the sauce coats the pasta evenly and thickens nicely.
- Add Cheese and Parsley: Remove the sauce from heat and mix in the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley until fully incorporated and creamy.
- Season and Serve: Taste the Alfredo sauce and season with salt and freshly ground pepper according to your preferences. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Fettuccine Alfredo!
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and to ensure smooth melting.
- Reserve some pasta water as it helps adjust sauce consistency and enhances creaminess.
- For a lighter version, you can substitute half of the heavy cream with milk, though the sauce may be less rich.
- Fresh garlic can be used instead of garlic powder for a more robust garlic flavor.
- Garnish with additional parsley or Parmesan for presentation.
