Ingredients
Chipotle Sauce Ingredients
- 1 (7oz) can Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- ½ cup Sour cream (Mexican crema or Greek yogurt works well too)
- ½ cup Mayonnaise
- Salt (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Lime juice
- 8-10 sprigs Cilantro
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Gather all the ingredients including the chipotle peppers in adobo, sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, spices, salt, and fresh cilantro.
- Add to Blender: Place the canned chipotle peppers along with their adobo sauce, sour cream, mayonnaise, chili powder, cumin powder, garlic powder, lime juice, salt to taste, and cilantro sprigs into a blender or food processor jar.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend all the ingredients on medium-high speed until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, ensuring the flavors are well combined.
- Transfer Sauce: Pour the blended chipotle sauce into a serving bowl or container for immediate use.
- Serve: Use the sauce as a dip, spread, or drizzle over your favorite dishes such as tacos, grilled chicken, burgers, or roasted vegetables.
Notes
- You can adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer chipotle peppers according to your heat preference.
- For a healthier option, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
- Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Fresh lime juice brightens the flavor, so avoid using bottled lime juice if possible.
- This sauce also works great as a marinade or salad dressing base.
