  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 5 servings

Ingredients

  • For the Main Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ yellow onion, diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 16 ounces rigatoni pasta, cooked al dente
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the rigatoni pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until no pink remains. Drain any excess grease.
  4. Season the beef mixture with Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Pour in the marinara sauce and heavy whipping cream. Stir until fully combined with the beef mixture.
  6. Add the cooked rigatoni pasta to the skillet. Gently stir until the pasta is well coated in the sauce.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Transfer the pasta mixture to a baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove the pasta bake from the oven and serve warm. Enjoy this comforting dish!

Notes

  • You can add some crushed red pepper flakes if you prefer a little heat in your pasta bake.
  • If you don’t have marinara sauce, any tomato-based pasta sauce can work as a substitute.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese over the top before baking.
