These Cheddar Bay Biscuits are light, tender, and full of garlicky, buttery goodness. This copycat Red Lobster recipe is easy to make at home in just 20 minutes and is perfect as a side to any meal!

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 18 biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt (divided)
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter (1 ½ sticks, divided)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 8 ounces shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small microwave-safe bowl, add 1 stick (½ cup) of butter. Microwave for 30 seconds or until melted. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Add the melted butter and milk, whisking just until the flour is wet—do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese with a spoon.
  6. Drop heaping spoonfuls of the biscuit dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  8. Meanwhile, melt the remaining ¼ cup (½ stick) of butter in a small bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds.
  9. Add ¼ teaspoon salt and parsley to the melted butter and stir.
  10. Remove the biscuits from the oven and brush them with the melted butter mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper flakes to the butter mixture.
  • If you prefer a lighter biscuit, you can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.
  • Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container and reheat them in the oven to keep them warm and fluffy.
