Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly saucy, these BBQ Turkey Burgers are mixed with barbecue sauce and dry rub, baked until tender, and topped with your favorite fixings for a lighter take on classic burgers.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 6 burgers

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lean ground turkey breast
  • 6 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ dry rub
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 6 hamburger buns, toasted
  • Extra BBQ sauce (for topping)
  • Pickles
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Caramelized onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground turkey with BBQ sauce, dry rub, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Shape into 6 patties. Press a small indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
  4. Place patties on the baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Serve patties on toasted buns with your favorite toppings and extra BBQ sauce.

Notes

  • For grill marks, finish patties on a hot grill for 1–2 minutes per side after baking.
  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free buns as needed.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
