Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • Crust:
  • 1 ready-made pie crust, rolled out into a circle (or use homemade crust)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make Filling: In a large bowl, toss together apples, flour, brown sugar, lemon juice and zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Assemble Galette: Place the pie crust on the prepared baking sheet. Mound the apple filling in the center of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Fold the edges of the crust up over the filling, pleating as needed and pinching to seal.
  4. Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
  5. Cool and Serve: Let cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm or at room temperature. Optional: top with ice cream or whipped cream.
