Ingredients
- Filling:
- 4 cups peeled, cored, and thinly sliced apples (about 4–5 apples)
- 1½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 lemon, juice and zest
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- Crust:
- 1 ready-made pie crust, rolled out into a circle (or use homemade crust)
Instructions
- Prepare Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make Filling: In a large bowl, toss together apples, flour, brown sugar, lemon juice and zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Mix well and set aside.
- Assemble Galette: Place the pie crust on the prepared baking sheet. Mound the apple filling in the center of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Fold the edges of the crust up over the filling, pleating as needed and pinching to seal.
- Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Let cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm or at room temperature. Optional: top with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- For a fun twist, top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
