
Apple Butter Bars
These Apple Butter Bars are the perfect fall dessert, featuring layers of cinnamon-spiced oats and brown sugar crumble filled with sweet, tangy apple butter. They’re easy to make, comforting, and delicious served warm or at room temperature.

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or cup4cup or GF Bisquick for gluten-free)
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 ½ cups apple butter
- 2 tsp cinnamon sugar mix
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Add melted butter and use a fork to incorporate it into the dry ingredients. Add the egg and mix until the dough is crumbly but holds together when pressed.
- Press half of the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the apple butter evenly over the crust layer.
- Sprinkle the remaining dough over the top and gently press down.
- Sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mix.
- Bake for 38–40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before lifting out with parchment paper, slicing, and serving.
Notes
- Make sure the bars are completely cooled before slicing to help them hold their shape.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
- These bars can also be served slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent treat.
- To make vegan, use a flax egg and plant-based butter.
